A more intense shot of testosterone you will not pick up in any film. Equal parts bravado, guts and glory, “300″ is simply the most engaging film to arrive out this year – or in several. Criticized for its violence and gore, fans of Miller’s graphic novels will accumulate that violence and gore to be as beautifully depicted on the cover as in the print version. A highly hyped CGI affair the cast could easily have been overcome by the sheer impressiveness of the physical production. To his credit director Zack Snyder is blessed with and uses a cast every bit equal to the challenge of competing with Miller’s sad unbelievable bewitch of the Spartan’s greatest anecdote.

Gerard Butler (Phantom of the Opera, Dear Frankie, etc.) adds yet another impressive and wildly different character to his arsenal of shroud roles. As Leonidas, King of Sparta, Butler is, from his pigtail to his muscled, sandled feet, every sprint a king; a just leader of men. His passion and intensity is matched by a ravishing performance by Lena Headey as his wife, Queen Gorgo. Though a dutiful wife and a woman in an age when being such was come equal to slave location, she is, in her scheme, as dauntless and mettlesome as her husband/King. Dominic West is properly atrocious and oily as the traitor Theron and he’s as depraved and duplicitous a villain as one can hope for. Rodrigo Santoro as a larger-than-life Xerxes is both comic and fearfully creepy equal parts perambulate queen and wanna be god. Gradual all the glitzy piercings and bling, he is petite more than self-inflated egotistical child.

While there is blood and gore aplenty, the film also happens to be emotionally satisfying and I found myself with tears welling up in my eyes more than a few times, as well as wanting to raise my fist in the air along with the jacked-up Spartans! While a macho stoicism pervades their attitudes, there are, to be definite, signs of a greater humanity beneath those ripped abs of Sparta’s army – and plenty of heart.

Parallels and allegories are already being drawn between today’s warring world climate, desirable power dominations and the world of musty Greece and the Middle East. While this provides an absorbing commentary, I heartily recommend leaving that baggage at home and appreciating “300″ on its beget and embracing its escapism.

Larry Fong’s cinematography ensures that “300″ is eye-poppingly comely from inaugurate to carry out – a radiant feast for the eyes while Tyler Bates’s come by is guaranteed to hold your adrenaline pumping as it matches – frame-for-frame the visual intensity presented on the conceal. While critics are divided on this one, audiences are flocking to it and cheering. For kindly reason, too: “300″ is fine broken-down myth telling wed to the very best 21st century filmmaking has to offer. Leer it!

Ah, to be male in Outmoded Greece: “300″ is a testosterone-driven fantasy in which all men are daring warriors, driven by the need for battle and bloodshed. War is depicted as gloriously as any geek loner-type could hope for, with every soldier being the epitome of strength, courage, and physical brute force. Emotional bonding, sensitivity, and compassion don’t even approach into play; these men were trained to be ruthless killing machines, all in the name of preserving the glory of Sparta. This would no doubt be a ridiculous film if the sage were presented in a straightforward, mainstream plan. But straightforward and mainstream, “300″ is not; this is pure, hard-driving escapism, from the frenetic battle sequences to the account for special effects to the over the top performances. In this sense, it’s absolutely quick-witted.

And it gets even better. Every shot, every setting, and every event is accentuated by a view so stylized that it’s practically a living duplicate of Frank Miller’s fresh graphic fresh. This was achieved through computer-generated imagery, which was responsible for creating most of the film’s locations. Bluescreen technology–also utilized for another amazing Miller adaptation, 2005’s “Sin City”–made for a majority of the sets, leaving very exiguous for the actors to actually work with. I can only imagine the wretchedness that went into post-production, the endless hours of crafting landscapes, characters, and special effects all with the click of a mouse. The work paid off; the raze product is an effectively heightened reinterpretation of reality, a kind of living illustration that transcends any sense of time or set. It’s the perfect explore for war yarn of this caliber, something so grandiose and overplayed that you can’t obtain enough.

The set is fairly simple: it’s a retelling of the 480 BC Battle of Thermopylae, in which the Spartans fought against the Persians. King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and his army of a mere 300 soldiers are ready to defend their land against the sinful King Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) . This is despite the fact that 1) they don’t have the blessing of the gods to go to war, and 2) they will fight against an army of over one million. But this matters not; Spartan males are trained to be warriors at a very early age, essentially the day that they’re born (only the largest, strongest newborns are spared; the diminutive, sickly ones are unceremoniously thrown off of a cliff) . They are taught the splendid art of combat. They are made to seize all kinds of physical harm, including lashings. They are conditioned to never retreat, even when facing insurmountable odds. Leonidas successfully survived such rigorous training (his first major battle was against a gross wolf with lovely eyes), as did the rest of his men. Now, they are ready for battle.

And after taking space arrive a beachfront cliff, the Spartans retract in ferocious battle with the Persians. Never on film has war been so mighty fun to peer. This is probably because each sequence was beautifully photographed; even graphic shots of stabbings, amputations, and decapitations are so artfully constructed that it’s hard to gain them as unsuitable. The bodies of Persian soldiers are customary to do a blockade of surprising strength. Blood spatters from gaping wounds in gloomy, unrealistic globules, effectively looking more like spots of ink. There’s a moment when arrows sail through the air in numbers so astronomical, they block the light of the sun. Nearly every shot is drawn out, often going in monotonous motion to expose how carefully choreographed the gratuitous violence is.

The Spartans also fight against the Immortals, an army of scandalous yet fantastical creatures with an appetite for destruction. They were appropriately crafted as one-dimensional barbarians, made more effective because of their appearances; they wear long shaded robes, and their pale, terrifying faces are hidden slow Tragedy-style silver masks. Where they came from is anyone’s guess. I roar it doesn’t really matter, especially since they pave the method for a number of other ghoulish creatures that would give the creations of Clive Barker a speed for their money. They–and every aspect of the film, for that matter–make it certain that the staunch emphasis is on style instead of narrative, which under different circumstances would create for a unhappy experience. But in this case, it works quite well; while a determined fable is being told, it would be of shrimp significance were it not for the special effects.

This isn’t to say that the account of “300″ is abominable. Quite the opposite: despite being simplistic, the fable is quite strong, especially when a couple of subplots are factored in. Relieve in Sparta, Leonidas’ wife, Queen Gorgo (Lena Headey), is up against a harmful Senate, already bought out by the Persians in order to ensure Sparta’s stability. The arrogant and treacherous Theron (Dominic West) is clearly not ready to handle a woman of such strength, especially since she fully supports Leonidas and Sparta’s involvement in the war. Because she intends to plead to the Council for the deployment of more soldiers, Theron challenges her authority by exclaiming that her words will topple on deaf ears.

Another subplot involves Ephialtes (Andrew Tiernan), a hunchbacked, hideously deformed Spartan who begs to join with Leonidas and fight against the Persians. Leonidas appreciates his passion, but refuses to let him fight; he’s unable to take his shield, and this would only do a primitive position in their defense system. Feeling rejected, Ephialtes personally appeals to Xerxes, who promises a wealth of power, money, and pleasure in exchange for loyalty. This scene takes spot in Xerxes’ den, in which a throng of misshapen creatures engages in an orgy. Before “300,” I never would have believed that any film could include such a scene, or at least a scene that would work in any method, shape, or accomplish. I was wrong; it was a entertaining scene, forcing the viewer to reassess what is lovely and what is horrible.

The film is narrated by Dilios (David Wenham), a Spartan soldier with a hard-edged masculinity that shines through despite a deceptively soft stammer. He recalls Leonidas, Sparta, and the Battle of Thermopylae with eloquence; when considering the heavy-handedness of war, this is no limited task. Yet he always gives a perfect delivery, and that only strengthens the appeal of “300.” This is in a world all its contain, a world dominated by battle cries, sword fights, and bare-chested men that are ripped like bodybuilders. It’s all thanks to Frank Miller, whose creative vision has allowed for a truly modern theatrical experience. If he creates another graphic unique, I can’t wait for it to be adapted for the tremendous conceal.
Canvas Storage Bins
Facial Cleanser

No movie protrayal can match a trustworthy book, but Jackson’s attempt is the best ever difficulty in the history of movies. His team’s substantial amount of research, attention to detail and worship of the unique literary work comes through. Yes, some site lines are altered in minor ways to sustain the off-screen characters fragment of the movie as it quiet has to help an audience that didn’t read the books, but overall anyone must fancy their work. Yes, all of us Tolkien fanatics would fancy to gawk a movie of 139 hours in length that shows every scene and includes every line of dialog from the books, including Tom Bombadil and the everything else, exactly as written, but that obviously isn’t going to happen.

Sam – please read the books again as many of your review details are base. Gollum does have an internal struggle of Smeagol vs. Gollum, it’s suitable in the book. It is fair clear in the movie that Sam is disgusted by Gollum and Frodo is more pitying him, same as the book. There is the conflict between Arwen and Elrond about her relationship with Aragorn and her struggle with remaining elfen and going West vs. staying with Aragorn. But it is subplot not detailed in the books as noteworthy, but Jackson is trying to flesh out characters. Aragorn does have doubts and struggles about coming out of hiding to rise to the thrown, he sets this up more in movie #2 for movie #3 but it is there in the books. Saruman does have control over nameless character “A” which nameless “B” breaks with a struggle and in the movie he has to construct it clear (over-do-it) what is going on or movie-goers would go “what the heck? ” since they aren’t reading the book. Saruman does rip down all the trees and into forest which P-O’s the Ents, animated them into action, which WAS inspired by Tolkien’s detest of the industrial age (more to advance in movie #3 I’m clear as in the books) . There are warg-riding (i.e. huge rats) orcs (even attend in the Hobbit books) – READ THE BOOKS AGAIN!!!

But some variations are needed for a movie version for the general public; I’ll agree with you that all were not needed _FOR_US_, but there is the Joe Blow impress buyer he is trying to entertain as well, to actually accomplish money on this ample project (which was completed, by the design, before movie #1 came out and was mild a gamble then; hindsight only shows he could have gotten away with “less”, perhaps) .

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers! Click Here

It’s easy to plug down lift on every detail especially when movies are based on books. But this has to be (with the others in the series) some of the best movies ever made, and clearly the best attempt to mirror books on the screen; especially with the fantasy setting and special effects requirements. “To Demolish a Mockingbird” is another large adaption, but it’s not so hard to pick up a tiny Southern town and a guy named “Boo” as it is to beget Balrogs, Orcs, Rings of Power and the Inspect that Never Sleeps. Give him a atomize.

It’s hard to know where to inaugurate in articulating a coherent summary of so spectacular an legend as Peter Jackson’s rendering of Tolkein’s masterpiece. Perhaps the most incisive comment I can execute is that, having been a fan of “The Lord of the Rings” since I first read the trilogy nearly 35 years ago, I’m impressed by Jackson’s fidelity to the spirit of the unusual literary work.

“The Two Towers” is a very different kind of film than its predecessor. Don’t inquire of the intimacy of “The Fellowship of the Ring”; the evolution of the sage precludes it. The dissolution of the Fellowship scattered the considerable characters of the first film into three determined sub-plots: Merry (Dominic Monaghan) and Pippin (Billy Boyd), whose pick by the Uruk-Hai takes them into Fangorn Forest and their ultimate influence on the fate of Saruman (Christopher Lee) ; Legolas (Orlando Bloom), Gimli (John Rhys-Davies), and Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), who re-unite with a resurrected Gandalf (Ian McKellan) in the climactic battle of Helm’s Deep; and Frodo (Elijah Wood) & Sam (Sean Astin), who continue their quest to ruin the Ring at Orodruin (ably played by Mount Doom) in Mordor. That’s a lot of threads to weave into the overall tapestry of the anecdote, and it necessarily calls for some fairly abrupt and rapidly scene changes. The action is so fast-paced that you will barely have time to earn your breath.

One of the most personally meaningful aspects of the film — and so far, it has been correct of both “The Fellowship of the Ring” and “The Two Towers” — is Jackson’s uncompromising adherence to Tolkein’s vision of the timelessness of the sage itself. The author was clear NOT to write a narrative that served as an allegory for any of the fresh events of his time, but rather hoped to address great broader issues that are rooted in the fundamentals of human nature. In so doing, the trilogy has remained relevant to the human condition in a blueprint that transcends nationalities, ethnicities, and the various idiosyncratic cultural zeitgeists of any of the historical periods it has spanned. I collect accurate personal relevance in Aragorn’s struggle with his believe destiny. It’s not a predetermined kind of destiny, as in “fate”, but rather the self-determined destiny of one who follows his heart and his occupy integrity. Ditto for Eowyn (Miranda Otto), whose struggle to fulfill her desire for valor in the service of suited is established in “The Two Towers”, and will culminate in the final installment, “The Return of the King”.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers! Click Here

But Jackson’s triumph runs noteworthy deeper than his artistry in character development; many mountainous films section that characteristic. It is his mastery in the consume of surpassing technological innovation as an help in the storytelling rather than as an extinguish in itself that raises the bar for all subsequent films. His combination of digital, fabricated, and natural scenery in creating the world of Middle Earth is simply breathtaking. The battle scenes are repugnant without being overwhelming in their reliance on gratuitous violence or plain bloodshed. [I will allow my daughters (8 and 12 years of age) to gaze the films, and I am probably more protective of their sensibilities than most parents I know.] And Jackson’s creation of the creature Gollum (Andy Serkis) is without equal or precedent in filmmaking history. Gollum is more than simply “believable”; he is actual. His role in the record is pivotal, and it was Jackson’s test of fire to earn an all-digital character whose range of expression and movement could carry such an distinguished fragment in the legend. It is a masterpiece of moviemaking art.

It will seem incomprehensible to the uninitiated that my only lament about the three-hour film is that it is too short. That’s hardly a criticism, for Jackson has included everything that is relevant to the sage line in setting the stage for the trilogy’s climax in the third film. As a matter of practicality, the film can’t exceed three hours for simple economic reasons. A longer film would mean fewer showings — not agreeable for the profitability of movie theatres — or a higher ticket of admission, which would not be approved with moviegoers. So, the filmmaker has had to accommodate those constraints, and I contain it’s a job well done.

Still, it’s inevitable that one who has read the book will glean discrepancies or omissions in the film, but that’s not the basis of my wish that the film were longer. Rather, it’s more a matter of being sorry that it was over at the destroy. “The Two Towers” is so inviting, so utterly piquant a film-watching experience, that I found myself wanting more. What better statement could one compose about the success of the filmmaker who wants his customers to arrive benefit for the third and final fraction of this myth trilogy? The consolation to those who want more will undoubtedly be in the release of the special edition DVD, which — like its counterpart for “The Fellowship…” — will add famous additional footage to the theatrical version.

Finally, for all the unparalleled technological excellence of the film, the most compelling reason of all to glimpse it is the myth itself. If you admire big movies crafted by professionals with vision who philosophize a much sage exceedingly well, you simply must watch “The Lord of the Rings”. It’s distinct that the trilogy has found a special site in moviegoers’ hearts. I saw “The Two Towers” at Edwards Cinema in Brea, California at a matinee showing on December 23, 2002, in a full-house audience of people of all ages. When the initial title “The Lord of the Rings” appeared on the conceal, the audience spontaneously burst into applause. I have never seen that happen at any movie I have ever attended, and for generous reason – there has never been a movie like this before.
Polka Dot Luggage
Hardside Luggage

I really wasn’t clear what I’d be getting with the film I Married a Monster from Outer Plot (1958) as the title, while certainly informative (and long), screams cheap productions values, lurid storyline, and cheap exploitation intended on turning a fleet buck, remarkable like the corrupt Ray Dennis Steckler crudfest, The Incredibly Unique Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies!!? (1964) . After watching the movie, I found that wasn’t the case, as while it may suffer (or wait on, depending on your point of notion) from a lengthy and sensationalistic title, I Married a Monster from Outer Position is a fun science fiction film worth anyone’s time (and money) .

The film, directed by Gene Fowler Jr., probably better know for his work as an editor on films like It’s a Wrathful, Enraged, Exasperated, Angry World (1963) and Hang `Em High (1968), stars Tom Tryon (The Longest Day) and Gloria Talbot (The Leech Woman) as newlywed couple Bill and Marge Farrell. The film opens with Bill and his friends, in a local bar, celebrating Bill’s last night as a free man, as he’s getting married the next day. On his arrangement home, Bill has a odd encounter with an even stranger being and a detestable looking cloud of alien whammy gas. The next day, Bill is tedious for his wedding, and he seems a bit off…Marge doesn’t pay great attention, but soon after the nuptials, she begins to realize the honeymoon is over even before it began, as Bill is a completely different person, morose, distant, unfeeling and unprejudiced generally wintry. Maybe it has something to do with the fact Bill is no longer Bill, but an alien, inhabiting the shell of Bill’s body (that’s what I’m betting my money on, or that Bill is impartial a gigantic jerkwad) . Eventually Marge learns the truth, but trying to convince people of what she knows is entirely frustrating as who’s going to gain something like that? Most honest capture she’s lost her marbles, or has taken up the drink…and given the fact that the aliens have since begun to inhabit the bodies of many other men in the diminutive town, her pleas for wait on are routinely ignored. What is the purpose of this alien infestation? I will convey you they ain’t here for the ample cooking and elegant conversation…

I really enjoyed this film, made come the demolish of Hollywood’s golden age of science fiction films. The region smacks of Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956), with a number of significant differences, mainly the aliens’ intent and the supposition of a female lead instead of a male lead. I’m not saying this film is as genuine as Invasion, but it does work, and also delivers. I opinion Tryon did well as the alien trying to insinuate himself in normal, everyday life. I plan the element of his learning different human emotions, like treasure, a bit goofy, but then it was touched on briefly, and never really examined in depth. At one point, it almost seemed like the transition from within, the development of human qualities, had nearly matched the physical transition. Talbot also played her role well, as the desperate woman who knows too great but can’t derive aid. I really loved the scene between her and her friend, fair before the friend was about to marry a man who had since been assimilated. She kept trying to gain a contrivance to rupture the news to her friend, but given the fact that her friend appeared to be in her mid- 40’s and unmarried, it seemed she wouldn’t have cared one diagram or the other, unbiased so long as she was getting married. I have to say, while Talbot had elegant features (nice body), her face was off-putting, almost annoying, to me. Personal tastes, I yell…My celebrated character had to have been the bartender, Grady, played by Max ‘Slapsie Maxie’ Rosenbloom. He didn’t have mighty conceal time, but what he had was memorable as he added a bit of intentional, and welcomed, humor to lighten the proceedings unprejudiced a tad. I’ve read that, when he was younger, he was a professional fighter, and, after retiring, he made a film career `playing a series of Runyonesque-type thugs and pugs’. Another scene I really liked was when Bill and his friends, now all aliens, congregated in the local bar, and were discussing the pros, and mostly, cons of their human bodies. I idea it unique that the aliens were discrete with obvious things, but then sure in other aspects. Maybe they assumed they had the town bottled up splendid well, and could afford some leeway here and there, using their demolecularizer ray-gun the occasional uppity carbon-based lifeform. The special effects were better than average, and I am especially enthusiastic to know exactly what that fat goo was smooth of, the goo that would be released after the death of a man/alien. The record moves along exquisite rapidly, slowing occasionally for pertinent and relevant space points. There wasn’t the level of tension here as there was in a film like Invasion of the Body Snatchers, but it didn’t really matter as I Married a Monster from Outer Area is a entirely fun and captivating method to exhaust about a hour and a half.

Buy,Download, Or Stream I Married a Monster From Outer Space! Click Here

The print provided on this release from Paramount Home Video is very crisp, shipshape, and obvious, with a very minor amount of age deterioration expose (a very minor speckling here and there, but hardly noticeable) . There are no sincere special features included, not even a trailer, but English subtitles are available, which I made expend of a few times (Paramount seems to perambulate far late in their inclusion of goodies on their DVD releases…for shame…) . The audio is fine obvious, but there were a few points it got a diminutive muddled, but that was more due to the actor not speaking as clearly as I would have liked, and not a unpleasant audio track.

Cookieman108

Despite having one of the worst, most misleading titles in movie history, “I Married a Monster From Outer Dwelling” is a solid, often chilling science fiction movie, with some very capable acting and an fine script. You won’t acquire a mindless us versus them record here, which makes it all the more effective.

Buy,Download, Or Stream I Married a Monster From Outer Space! Click Here

Bill Farrell ((Tom Tryon) was having a last drinking spree with some pals, the night before his wedding. But the next day, Bill arrives behind to the church, and on the honeymoon he seems strangely preoccupied and distant. His original bride, Marge (Gloria Talbot), is a bit shocked by her husband’s sudden change, but tries to retain going as if nothing has happened. But a year passes, and Bill is unruffled acting exclusive — so, for that matter, are his pals.

One night (after the mystery deaths of a couple of animals), Marge follows Bill into the woods — only to witness a irregular elegant alien emerge from his body and enter a spaceship. Fearful, Marge tries to catch assist, but she has no device of bright who’s an alien and who isn’t. And when she learns why the aliens have reach, and why they’ve impersonated human males, she enlists the encourage of the remaining humans to support her.

“I Married A Monster” is an example of legend triumphing over budgets and special effects. While the script isn’t flawless (if the aliens can’t tolerate alcohol, why doesn’t Marge consume that as a test? ), the behind buildup of tension, and the feeling of helplessness, is wonderfully done. Things as shrimp as stumbling over a dumb cat are imbued with terror, and the “less is more” exposure of the aliens in their apt forms adds a ample low-key tone to it. The special effects and costumes, though ragged by unique standards, are surprisingly convincing.

Buy,Download, Or Stream I Married a Monster From Outer Space! Click Here

One of the best aspects of this film is the handling of the aliens. They’re not unfavorable, objective desperate to perpetuate their absorb kind. They’re not invading for its gain sake; they have a motive. But at the same time, they are clearly not acting acceptably, since they also extinguish off some humans (a young woman at a bar, and a nosy lech) . Detached, it’s hard not to feel a pang when any of the aliens die, or when “Tom” explains their dilemma. Another nice touch is one of the aliens looking wistfully into a shop window.

Tryon does an proper job, since he has to play an alien pretending to be a human — cool, stiff, and a bit off-key. He does it wonderfully, with the factual tinge of emotion when it’s needed. Talbot does an equally genuine job. It would be too easy to do Marge an over-the-top hysteric, but she keeps the character reined in, so you can feel her awe.

It’s a intellectual, well-written movie, like “Invasion of the Body-Snatchers” but with more suspense and more three-dimensional aliens. Recommended highly — don’t let the title fear you away.
Virility Ex
Thyromine

I really loved this movie! I idea it was really comic and had a great area. I also appreciated the fact that two of my popular stars from Radiant Guy were in it (Essence Atkins and Jason Weaver) . This was an independent film, which may clarify whatever quality concerns one might have. I deem over all, it’s a substantial movie. I loved all of the actors. I hope to explore them in some more stuff soon!

Love for SaleI was surprised how noteworthy I enjoyed this slight movie, I would definately recommend it (the added music video was not only savory it was humorous I quiet procure myself singing the cornbread song, Clifton Powell was incredible in his itsy-bitsy portion, very silly)
Stretch Mark Removal Cream
HGH Energizer

I’ve been waiting for this movie to arrive out on DVD so I can replace my well-worn VHS copy. I weak to recognize this film a lot as a teenager because I’ve always had an interest in “deserted south pacific islands” (“Gilligan’s Island” was one of my favourite childhood shows, I loved “Swiss Family Robinson”, I dreamed of visiting Tahiti and Fiji when a 4th grade teacher spoke about such islands existing, and a section of me detached fantasizes about the Peace Corps) .

Buy,Download, Or Stream Lt. Robin Crusoe, U.S.N.! Click Here

This film is a Disney classic which detached holds up well today. I’m not determined if savvy modern-day children will like this kind of film, but I imagine they will. The humor is timeless and Dick Van Dyke is the sort of actor that children gravitate to (perhaps “the Mary Poppins enact”) . I like this retelling of the “Robinson Crusoe” chronicle, modernizing it and adding mighty humor as well. The chimp as sidekick is grand.

My accepted piece of the movie is when Lt Crusoe meets the island ladies and they screech pidgin to comedic enact (like using “cow-cow”) . There were so many lines in this film that my sister and I loved to quote to one another, such as “Kabuna say ‘women got rights!’” Impartial the word “Kabuna” sounds comic when you say it. I adore how Lt Crusoe plays with the natives’ superstitious notion in idols, by making Kabuna (an Easter Island looking tiki rock carving that the island natives appreciate) inform with a booming screech. Ah, to be stranded on an island pudgy of comely native women! This film is kind of a parody about the women’s liberation movement, as Lt Crusoe changes the women to be less submissive and more independent, which has an unintended consequence for him…as they saunter after him and he’s peaceful dreaming about his girl in the U.S.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Lt. Robin Crusoe, U.S.N.! Click Here

This one is a classic and will definitely be a share of my collection. I could study it over and over and detached laugh myself funny. Unfortunately, Disney doesn’t obtain movies like this anymore, but I hope they won’t even attempt to remake it (as they did with other classics like “The Parent Trap” and “Freaky Friday”) . This one is timeless and a perfect Disney comedy of the bygone era.

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen this film, and I remember it to be an intelligent slapstick farce with Dick Van Dyke in top perform as the title character, a descendant of the modern Robinson Crusoe who, while on training mission, crash-lands on a tropical island. He must fend for himself while awaiting rescue, with only fellow castaway Floyd the astrochimp and a native girl he names Wednesday to support him company. It’s a laughable and fast-paced lark, and very typical of ’60’s Disney product.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this version of the film for recall at this time. Here are five reasons why:

1. Like “Million Dollar Duck” and “Barefoot Executive”, “Lt. Robin Crusoe, U.S.N.” is being released to DVD in a idle, fullscreen version instead of the family-friendly 1:66:1 aspect ratio it was originally filmed in. As a film purist, I simply refuse to take anything that isn’t presented in the format it was originally filmed in. That Disney is dumping frail films on DVD in the faded fullscreen VHS format shows a total lack of respect for the filmmakers and the consumer alike.

2. I survey no indication on the packaging that this film has been digitally restored. Therefore, I must effect the DVD contains the same tired used print of the film that was originally released on VHS. Even more galling is the fact that the sound hasn’t been upgraded to stereo, but according to the packaging is presented in “mono.” I ask consumers everywhere: why bother replacing outmoded VHS films with DVDs that are of no better quality than what you already have?

3. There are absolutely no extras presented with this film. No “making of” documentary, no commentary with Mr. Van Dyke, no unique theatrical trailer, nothing. That Disney released this film with no extras makes the lack of a widescreen print even more annoying, since there is more than enough room on a DVD to prove both fullscreen and widescreen versions of the film. Other companies, especially MGM/UA, do it all this time. Why can’t Disney? It’s simple: laziness and lack of respect for the consumer.

4. This DVD is ridiculously expensive, expecially at the new retail stamp of $19.95, which is a bulky $10 more than most bare-bones DVDs are priced by other companies. Disney has always been known for gouging its fans at the cash register, but this is ridiculous.

5. 1+2+3+4=ONE Substantial RIPOFF. Once again, Disney rips-off its consumers, and they’ll continue to laugh all the design to the bank unless we pick a stand. Therefore, I ask fans everywhere:

BOYCOTT ANY DISNEY DVD THAT IS NOT RESTORED AND PRESENTED IN WIDESCREEN FORMAT. That’s the only device we’ll ever glean through to these greedy corporate pinheads.

Film: *** (out of *****) DVD: * (out of *****)
Natural Gain Plus
Lipo 6

Rin, the tough as nails samurai girl of Aoi Academy comes to the forefront in this second volume of a very humorous series. In the first episode she tries to master the art of preparing a school lunch for her crush on a fellow student who’s transferring. She’s never been able to work up the nerve to instruct to him so it’s up to Kazuki and the girls to give her some cooking training. Even though she might cleave them up with her katana!

The second episode puts her in an even more comedic spot as she, Yuna, and Kurika all vie to recognize the best when they rep out Kazuki’s parents are coming to visit. A scene where Rin tries to perfect a polite smile is priceless. A possible recent rival arrives in the fabricate of Chihaya Yamase, a childhood friend of Kazuki as she asks Kazuki’s class to join hers in putting on a festival play. Finally, the whole gang tries to come by a kid that has stolen a fraction of stolen jewelry from the biggest jerk in the school, Nakamuro.

This installment was very comical. Rin especially shined and was enthusiastic in the best comedy because her personality is so opposed to such things. I give her an “A” for trying. The girls of the reveal never become annoying as is so popular in shows like this. They’re always laughable, even the super-cute Yuna who can obtain magnificent violent at times. The spacious busted Kuriko, who supposedly has everything, is learning that there’s more to life than material possessions. And then there’s Kazuki who you can’t attend but like because he gives without thinking about a reward. He’s fair a caring person. Ample note.

First off i started to gather this series because of the device people described it in their reviews. Turns out this is one of my approved animes of all time.

This dvd starts with Rin having a crush with this boy who is the head of the biology club. The plight is that he seems to be leaving the school and so Rin wants to do something nice for him before he leaves. Lets unprejudiced say Rin isn’t powerful of a cook…enough said.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Maburaho, Vol. 2: Magic and Mayhem! Click Here

The second episode brings up the topic of Kazuki’s parents and all of the girls are going wild. All of them occupy that they have to form a beneficial impression if they are to rep Kazuki’s genes so each of them takes their fill time and prepares dishes and are ready to welcome Kazuki’s parents. There was objective one scrape…..but im not gonna say.

The third episode is about the aoi campus holding a festival and Kazuki’s class can’t seem to decide a role in this festival. The dvd introduces a novel character and she seems to be Kazuki’s childhood friend. They both catch allotment in this play, but I wont say anything that will spoil it.

The last episode begins with a boy trying to catch nakamuro’s jewelry. Now the first thing that might advance to your mind is “why in the world does he even have jewelry? ” Kazuki’s power maybe fabulous, but exactly how many more times does he exactly have left?

Overall if you enjoyed animes like: fancy hina, inuyasha, d.n.angel, or tenchi muyo then you will absolutely fancy this series!!!!!!
Female Libido Enhancer
Virility Ex

Karol Wojtyla was deeply influenced by the events of the Second World War, or rather, the German invasion/occupation of his native Poland, to be more specific. That’s the reason why this film is called what it is; as it tries to mumble how the man himself was “made” by a particular historical era into the man the world has since reach to know. If you are looking for an all encompassing ‘Life of John Paul II’ this isn’t the film for you. (Seek “Ogle to Hope” on DVD for that, and/or read George Weigel’s biography of Pope John Paul II by that same title.) Roughly half of this presentation concerns the era in which World War Two was fought, leaving not worthy time to address the half century of this man’s service that followed. In many ways, thus, this film is very worthy a window into Nazi-occupied Poland; a film that one could usefully glimpse along with “The Wannsee Conference,” “Schindler’s List,” and others. On that level it is a radiant film indeed. Piotr Adamczyk, the actor who portays the future pope, moreover, handles the role with grand aplomb. As the memoir of “The Man who became Pope,” however, this film suffers from some very serious shortcomings. In the film pivotal scenes, for instance, are portrayed by a “Father Tomasz Zaleski,” who plays Karol’s stop friend of many years—his spiritual advisor even; a man we ultimately leer procure shot by a Nazi firing squad. Too terrible all this is, in George Weigel’s words, “a complete invention. Young Karol Wojtyla did have a spiritual director, Father Kazimierz Figliewicz, but Figliewicz was not his contemporary and was not shot by the Germans, ” Weigel has written. Karol’s relationship with “Hania,” in dependable life the Polish actress Halina Krolikiewicz Kwiatkowska, is also doctored. A stop friend of Karol, she is portrayed as kept in the dim by his decision to join the priesthood (seemingly belied by the fact that he was very start about this with friends supposedly) ; who then doesn’t marry for 7 years—seemingly to imply something here. But she actually married soon thereafter. And her first child was later (1946) baptized by Father Karol. And lastly, to quote Weigel again: “The filmmakers also fabricate a member of a Wojtyla youth group who is really working for the SB, the secret police. This is not only a total fabrication; it’s an insult to the men and women who were, in fact, Karol Wojtyla’s closest lay friends, and whose networks were certainly not penetrated by Polish intelligence.” But the film adds the fictional priest above, the hint of romantic relations that didn’t exist, and—for added measure—some espionage spice that no evidence exists to encourage. To reiterate: The film is well done and does convincingly direct the spirit of the future John Paul II. Objective don’t select all the details of the anecdote presented herein as gospel should you determine to understanding this film along with “Gaze to Hope.” God Bless

I was born and raised in Warsaw Poland. I was 8 years passe when Karol Wojtyla became Pope John Paul II. He was all what I novel until he passed away last year. I will never forget his words:

or complain, but simply loves”. His savor to God, Poland and all people was tall. He opinion us how to forgive and go on.

This movie shows the fundaments of his faith and how it all happened. It is very emotional recount.
Like Antonio Banderas in “The 13th Warrior” and Director Robert Zemeckis in his 2008 CGI film, “Outlander” takes on the classic narrative of Beowulf, but unlike those films it does it with a sci-fi twist. The “Grendel” monster in this film has celestial origins mighty like the titular Outlander played by Jim Caviezal. The monster effect was one of the most pleasantly surprising aspects of the film; its see was current and had the true mix of wintry and creepy.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Outlander! Click Here

Some drawbacks to this film include a few flashback scenes with old CGI, relatively uncharismatic male leads, and a few curious casting choices–John Pain as a Viking king? In disagreement the incredible Ron Perlman was cast perfectly yet sorely underused. Those complaints aside, “Outlander” is overall a tightly paced, action packed, and spirited pick on the English language’s oldest adventure account.

I got a chance to peer this in the theatres thanks to a friend of mine with a interesting study. It was only released in a VERY dinky engagement – in my residence, only one theatre ran it for a week. What a shame!

This movie is a must-see for fans of sci-fi movies like the first Terminator, movies like Ice Pirates, or Pitch Sunless. It has its occupy improbable mythology, and the casting is big. Could’ve seen more of Ron Pearlman, though.

Yes, there are a couple of cheesy moments, but the salubrious stuff far outweighs the unpleasant. Very very luscious film. Looking forward to a disc release, and hopefully an extended edition – rumor has it that Weinstein and Co trimmed 15 min off the extinguish to get the movie fit on one less reel, saving money.
Quick Trim
Thyromine

Even if you’ve never seen John Ford’s THE SEARCHERS, you will have, undoubtedly, seen a film that owes it’s ’style’ to the film. DANCES WITH WOLVES, THE OUTLAW JOSIE WALES, UNFORGIVEN, JEREMIAH JOHNSON, and Initiate RANGE are objective a few westerns that have ‘borrowed’ from it, but THE SEARCHERS’ impact transcends the genre, itself; STAR WARS, THE ENGLISH PATIENT, THE LAST SAMURAI, even THE LORD OF THE RINGS have elements that can be traced abet to Ford’s 1956 ‘intimate’ anecdote. When you add the fact that THE SEARCHERS also contains John Wayne’s greatest performance to the film’s merits, it becomes easy to gawk why it is on the short list of the greatest motion pictures ever made.

The set is deceptively simple; after a Comanche raiding party massacres a family, taking the youngest daughter prisoner, her uncle, Ethan Edwards (Wayne), and adopted brother, Martin Pawley (Jeffrey Hunter), inaugurate a long quest to try and rescue her. Over the course of years, a rich tapestry of characters and events unfold, as the nature of the pair’s motives are revealed, and bigoted, bitter Edwards emerges as a crooked man hooked on killing the ‘tainted’ white girl. Only Pawley’s adore of his ’sister’ and determination to protect her stands in his plan, making the film’s climax, and Wayne’s portrayal of Edwards, an unforgettable experience.

With all of Ford’s recent ‘touches’ clearly in evidence (the doorways ‘framing’ the film’s opening and conclusion, with a cave opening serving the same function at the film’s climax; the extensive exercise of Monument Valley; and the nearly lurid palette of color highlighting key moments) and his reliance on his ’stock’ company of players (Wayne, Ward Bond, John Qualen, Olive Carey, Harry Carey, Jr, Hank Worden, and Ken Curtis), the film marks the emergence of the ‘mature’ Ford, no longer deifying the innocence of the era, but dealing with it in human terms, where ‘white men’ were as satisfactory of savagery as Indians, frequently with less justification.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Searchers! Click Here

Featuring 18-year ragged Natalie Wood in one of her first ‘adult’ roles, the splendid Vera Miles as Pawley’s worship interest, Wayne’s son Patrick in amusing relief, and the harmonies of the Sons of the Pioneers accenting Max Steiner’s rich catch, THE SEARCHERS is a timeless movie experience that becomes richer with each viewing.

It is truly a masterpiece!

On this spot there are over 100 fan-reviews of this movie, and many enlighten the residence in gigantic detail, therefore, my reivew will be short and sweet. With the immense John Ford directing, John Wayne starring, and a expedient legend line – all this adds up to a 5-star movie if there ever was one! You cannot go putrid buying this DVD – it delivers!

Now considered possibly the greatest weatern movie of all-time, “The Searchers” was panned by the critics of its day for being honest another “ho-hum” John Wayne western. It took years, but fresh critics and viewers now seek it as an tale of western filmmaking that perhaps will never be topped. If I had to settle one movie that represented the best of the west, it is undoubtedly “The Searchers”.

John Wayne gives his most intense acting performance as the sunless and vengeful Ethan Edwards, who vows to end the Commanche raiders that murdered his beloved sister-in-law, brother, and took captive two of their daughters. Wayne easily carries the film on his huge brooding shoulders, pursuing the Indians for over 5 years through summer and winter, ever relentless to peer their chief, “Scar”, uninteresting, and his captive nieces rescued.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Searchers! Click Here

Director John Ford is at the height of his creative powers in directing this western masterpiece. He weaves so many different themes and levels of interpretation into the film, that one discovers something unique with each viewing. It would occupy a shrimp treatise to bring out all the subtle details.

Succinctly and to the point, “The Searchers” is a film that you will gape again and again, and fancy it each time a bit more. It is that absolute best in western filmmaking!
